Dominican Film Showcase Presents Quarterly Program in Collaboration with DR Embassy in Washington, DC
Wednesday January 20th, 2016The Dominican Film Showcase in Washington, D.C. presents this year a new initiative with the support of the Dominican Republic Embassy. During 2016, GFDD’s Dominican Film Showcase will be screening a wonderful selection of Dominican films in collaboration with the Dominican Republic Embassy in the United States. The quarterly program will start with the first screening on March 1, 2016, with the film No hay más remedio. The event is free and open to the general public, though the venue counts with limited capacity.
Directed by José Pintor, the film tells the story of Angel, Fonso, and Roberto, three elderly with problems that are too hard to solve in their remaining time to live, take a wrong decision: to commit a robbery at a pharmacy to get enough money to make their dreams come true. Age, technology, employees and customers of the pharmacy… together with a very particular society make their plan not go as foreseen. This is the story of three men who are forced to reach the limit of their possibilities.
